    Description

    Beautiful Antique Japanese Meiji period Kutani Charger. Featuring wonderful iron red color with gold hand painted accents, this lovely piece depicting birds and flowers/peonies on soft white background, for blue medallions with butterflies on the rims. The charger is marked on the underside with mark that dates to the late 19th - early 20th Century. Condition is good, some wear to decorations due to age. A few firing imperfections related to production. No cracks, chips or repairs noted. Typical use related wear and marks.

    This beautiful charger is a wonderful example of Japanese porcelain of Meiji era. Despite imperfections, it will make a wonderful and eye-catching display piece and will add charm to a collection of antique oriental pottery and porcelain.
