    Description

    This is an antique Japanese late Meiji era (c.1910) lacquer rice bowl
    made of hand turned cryptomeria wood with over twenty layers of dark brown lacquer.
    The rim edging is  highlighted in gold.
    Japanese lacquer is considered the finest in the world. It is durable enough to withstand the harshest treatment the centuries have thrown at it. Guaranteed to be in excess of 150 years old.
    Having been in storage for over a century and a half, with exception to minor signs of use, this bowl
